The early spring weather has allowed Holiday Valley to open all 18 holes of the Double Black Diamond Golf Course. According to Holiday Valley’s Director of Golf and PGA Master Pro Steve Carney, April 13 is the earliest that the entire 18 holes have opened since the mid 1980’s. “The course is already in great shape because of the warm and relatively dry weather we’ve had so far. The snowpack on the back nine was much less than in past years, so the turf took much less time to green up,” said Carney.
Carney and his staff want to assure everyone that the construction of the new Lodge will not affect play on the course at all. First, the bag drop will be right where it was last year – next to the Daycare Building. Guests can drop off their bags, and everyone in their group, then either self-park (right across the street where they did last season), or valet park at the front door of Tamarack. And if anyone wants help getting to their vehicle after golfing, the Pro Shop staff will be happy to accommodate guest.
Secondly, the Mardi Gras lift house will serve as the Halfway House, where golfers can get snacks and something to drink. The beverage cart will be on the course, same as always.
And lastly, there will be 9 restroom break locations throughout the course, and the locations of each will be posted in each cart. No worries there!
The Pro Shop is stocked with brand new merchandise, including Callaway and Nike clubs, EP Pro Ladies clothing, Nike and Under Armour Mens clothing, and 40 brands of golf balls.
