Ellicottville Central School Golf Team Season Begins

ECS Varsity Golf Coach

The Ellicottville Central School golf team consists of 19 members this year ranging in grades 7-12. This group includes a large number of 7th and 8th graders who will be key contributors to this years team, and for years to come. We have one returning senior starter who will lead the team…Nick Palombi.

We began practice on March 13th with hitting balls inside the high school gym. Due to our nice weather this spring, we were able to move practices outside the following week. Holiday Valley is very generous with allowing our golfers to use their golf range facilities for practices, and have been working between the range and the golf course for practices since we returned from spring break.

I anticipate our golf team being very competitive this season, lead by our juniors and seniors, and getting contributions from some of our younger golfers as well. We are in a league with Randolph, Franklinville, Portville, Salamanca, and Cattaraugus-Little Valley.

Our matches begin on Thursday, April 19th at home against Portville.
