No need to mourn the old chalet when you can see its best features recycled and reused in the construction of Tamarack’s gorgeous new conference facility.
When the Clubhouse Chalet demolition started less than 60 days ago, the HV Conference Committee was left with the challenge of finding an onsite location for all the summer conferences that were already scheduled. Leave it to Joe Sciolino, project and facilities manager at Tamarack, and Rich Sandler, general manager, to come up with a solution.
The idea was to build a 5,000-square-foot conference center on the second level of the Tamarack building using materials recycled from the Clubhouse Chalet. In less than 60 days, four new conference rooms were built, large enough to handle a 250-person banquet or a 300-person meeting. Construction started on March 16, 2012, and was finished just last week. The additional meeting space will hold all the summer bookings that were previously scheduled at the Clubhouse Chalet. Although intended as a temporary space, the hope is that it will be kept permanently because of the high quality of the center.
