Memorial Day Weekend and what many of us feel is the official beginning of summer is happening this weekend. Yes, this has been an up and down spring. We had wonderful golf weather in late March. Then in mid April we got another two feet of wet sloppy snow. Then late April to May came along and WOW, the weather turned to the upper sixties, then seventies to eighties and sunny. Along with the neat weather, the outdoor life really got great. The biking, hiking and the golf are in mid summer form. Both Holiday Valley’s Double Black Diamond Course and Elkdale Country Club are in wonderful shape and offer some good golfing times. Just call either location, make a Tee time then get out and enjoy what we here in Ellicottville take for granted. That being great outdoor summer FUN.

Our music parade and other FUN STUFF is also running well. Starting today Friday May 25, 2012 through Thursday May 31, 2012 we again will have seven Bands, two DJ’s and couple of Sound System Music Event happenin here in the clubs of Ellicottville for our enjoyment and general good times.

Like the last few weeks, the first of The Sound System Music Events will take place in Madigans Party Bar most of the hours they are open. As always, they will begin with Madigans Party Favorites till around 10:00 PM then Club Madigans will take the reins till close creating even more FUN. Also, if the weather cooperates, Madigans Up-Stairs Party & Patio Bar will be open for even more good times.

This week will feature “The Black & Blues Band”, a Buffalo based four-piece band that, according to their website, is Buffalo’s finest Blue Funk to Classic Rock to Jam Band. They create a high-energy atmosphere by using a very delicate blend of rhythms and sounds which is unmistakably their own. They played in Balloons for Halloween last year and really lived up to their billing with an excellent show.
