On Friday morning, Ellicottville seniors and two guests will enjoy a baccalaureate breakfast at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Later that evening, at 7 p.m. family, friends, and the Ellicottville staff and administration will gather in the high school gym for the graduation ceremony celebrating the accomplishments of the class.
Both Superintendent Mark Ward and Principal Robert Miller will address the audience and graduating class. Valedictorian Kaitlyn Riethmiller, salutatorian Ashley Golley and class president Falicia Elom will all speak as well. Seniors from the band and chorus will perform songs with themes relating to moving out into the world. Scholarships will be given out to some at the ceremony, while other scholarships previously received by students will be announced as they receive their diplomas.
Everyone from the class of 2012 is very excited and anxious for graduation and what is to come.
Jessica Schwartz is “looking forward to life and I had a great experience with the staff and students at ECS.”
Falicia Elom said, “I’m going to miss ECS. Those halls house a lot of good memories for me.”
Alissa Wallace is very proud of her class, because even though it is small it is one of the best academically and behaviorally that Ellicottville has seen for a while.
As a part of the class of 2012, I can tell you that graduation will be sad. I’ve gone to that school and seen those people almost every day for the past 13 years, but my classmates and I are all very excited and looking to the future. The graduation ceremony promises to be a really nice and meaningful event.
