Sponsored by the Lucille Ball Comedy Festival and appearing Friday, July 5, comedian Tammy Pescatelli, winner of Comedy Central’s Stand-up Showdown and finalist on NBC’s Last Comic Standing 2, will be the headliner for “Mountain of Laughs” at Holiday Valley Resort during the Summer Festival of Arts.
Ellicottville Times (ET) had the opportunity to chat with Tammy last week. Raised in a large Italian household in Cleveland, Ohio, three hours west of Ellicottville, Tammy said she has “always loved comedy.” At the age of 12, she would watch legendary comedians Rodney Dangerfield and Eddie Murphy on VHS tape over and over. Her big break into comedy came when she went to the Cleveland Improv with friends, armed with a fake ID and took a chance on open mic night.
A veteran comedian, Tammy has participated in six U.S.O. tours. Tammy shared with ET that working as a comedian is physically challenging, and it takes years to truly make it in the business.
Tammy will be joined on stage by rising young talent Tony Deyo, and a showcase of comedians featuring host Nick Siracuse, a Buffalo native who performs around the country and writes for Jay Leno, Moody McCarthy, a Syracuse native that has been featured on Letterman, Erik Rivera, who has performed on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, and Harrison Greenbaum, a Lucy Comedy Fest crowd favorite.
The Mountain of Laughs event is for an adult audience and tickets can be purchased for Ellicottville’s Summer Music Festival by contacting the Ellicottville Chamber of Commerce at 1-800-349-9099. Log on to www.ellicottvilleny.com for more info.
