On October 26, the Ellicottville Little Eagle Midgets WON THE SUPERBOWL with a 28-14 win over the Randolph Raiders! Congratulations Midgets!
This week, sectional championships begin for the boys’ varsity soccer team. On Oct. 26, the team won an astounding match against West Valley after two overtimes, a penalty kick round and a penalty kick shoot out period. The final score was 6-5 after three hours of play. This win assured the Eagles a place in Friday’s sectionals match against North Collins. It will be played at Hamburg High School.
The girls’ varsity soccer team won its first sectionals championship game on October 26 against West Valley, with an impressive score of 5-0. The sectionals finals game is at Dunkirk High School against Pine Valley on Friday, November 1.
The varsity volleyball team also has had a great year defending last year’s State Class D Championship. Their latest win of 3 games to 1 over North Collins on October 29 put them into the Class D semi-finals with a number three ranking. The semi-final game is against number two ranked Randolph on its court on November 1.
Meanwhile, the varsity football season is in playoff mode. After a convincing, 30-8 win against Cassadega High on Oct. 25, and a 22-7 win the previous week against Nichols, the Eagles play number 1 ranked Randolph on Friday, November 1.
