Save Time by Syncing Your Smart Stuff!

OLEAN – The Greater Olean Area Chamber of Commerce’s membership committee began hosting seminars every six weeks in 2011. Each seminar featured a topic of concern to our membership and were held at the chamber office at no cost for chamber members. The schedule of seminars has been set for the 2013/2014 season.

Smart Phone, iPhone,

iPad, Laptop?

The next seminar will show you ways to manage your time using new technology on Nov. 6 at noon. One of the perks of working in our modern environment is the abundance of technology available to make the way we work simpler, slicker, and more effective. But do smartphones truly enhance our productivity, or do they hold us back from the task at hand? One of the key points to remember when using a smartphone to help streamline your professional life is to know the product through and through, and to learn how to set up your gadget so that it works for your needs.

The ability to sync modern smartphones with other devices and platforms is an essential tool in the quest to save time and maximize productivity. You will learn to link your email account, calendar, task list and contacts onto your device. John Stevens, of JB Stevens Organizational Solutions, and Dan Antonioli will instruct this class.

Future seminars include:

Public Speaking: More Confidence, Less Stress, Dec. 11, Noon. Anna Bush, Positive Moves Consulting, will lead this seminar.

Excellence in Wellness, Jan. 23, Noon. Kelly A. Stranburg will show attendees easy steps to creating a workplace wellness program.

LinkedIn, March TBA. Mystified by the ins and outs of LinkedIn? Fret no more. This powerful social media tool for your business will be de-mystified by Samantha Disorbo. Sam will cover that and will also show you how to set up a LinkedIn profile, the “dos and don’ts” of LinkedIn etiquette, ways to increase your connections and build credibility, how LinkedIn can be used to build your business through LinkedIn groups, updates and more.

April TBA will feature Basic (Non-Social Media) Marketing Skills.

The seminars, held at the Chamber office at 120 N. Union St. in Olean, are free for members, with a $10 charge for non-GOACC members. For more information or to make a reservation, please contact GOACC at (716) 372-4433 or email betty@oleanny.com.
