Any works that are hangable are welcome, such as paintings, drawings, jewelry, glass, tiles, ornaments, sculpture, fabric, mixed media, etc. Three dimensional works, like jewelry and sculpture, may be attached to a 5×7 mount.
The deadline for entry is Nov. 22. All the artwork will be sold from CCAC’s gallery wall at 100 West Main in Allegany for the high-energy 5×7: Art for Everyone event on Dec. 7, 6–9 p.m.
For $15 general admission, including happy hour refreshments and hors d’oeuvres, guests will choose artwork for $25 each. Value and name recognition are hidden on all artwork, so pieces are chosen upon visual inspiration.
To add to the suspense 30 first-pick tickets will be sold for $50 to those wanting better odds at choosing works by artists such as Mikel Wintermantel, Thomas Paquette, Sean Huntington, Barbara Fox, and more talented regional artists.
To date, donations have also arrived from faraway places like Malaysia, Portugal and New York City, as well as other states.
Artists may identify themselves on the back of each piece and names will be used in marketing for the event. For artists’ guidelines and first-pick tickets, visit www.myartscouncil.net for details.
