Nickel City Opera presents “Amahl and the Night Visitors” at Springville Center for the Arts (SAC) on Saturday, Nov. 30 at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m.
Amahl, a poor, disabled child, is visited by the Three Kings on the way to see the Christ Child. Known best for its annual broadcast on NBC from 1951 to 1966, this modern opera by Gian Carlo Menotti is sung in English and is perfect for all ages. It is the first opera originally composed for television in America.
The show stars Gabriel Gough as Amahl along with Rosemarie Serrano, Gregory Sheppard, David MacAdam, Jim Wright and Luis Clay. The opera is directed by Valerian Ruminski, conducted by Nancy Townsend and features a full chorus, sets, costumes and lighting.

The performance has an approximate running time of one hour and takes place at the Carol Mongerson Theater, Springville Center for the Arts, 37 North Buffalo St. in Springville.
