B4BC App Keeps You Healthy

By Eva Potter

Boarding for Breast Cancer (B4BC), an all-day event geared toward empowering women to stay healthy and breast cancer-free, is taking place at Holiday Valley this Saturday, Feb. 15. To take your commitment to good health one step further, you can download a free cell phone app that will help you stay out of breast cancer’s grasp.

This easy-to-use app was designed for Boarding for Breast Cancer, a nonprofit organization dedicated to educational outreach focused on breast cancer prevention.

The B4BC cell phone app, by Black Sun Productions, LLC, is available for iPhone and iPad users. All you have to do is open iTunes, “buy” the free app and download it. It requires iOS 4.2 or later and is also compatible with the iPod Touch.

The B4BC app “is an educational outreach tool that empowers you to be your own advocate and understand the importance of living a healthy, active lifestyle,” according to the developer’s description. You can use it for easy tips to reduce your breast cancer risk, learn how to perform a breast self-exam and set automatic monthly reminders.

Calling the app “useful and amazing” in her review, Littlegoddess01, posted,” B4BC’s app is brilliant in a way that keeps me fit and keeps me aware of the lifestyle I need to live to be a healthy person. I open this app every day because it is so convenient for me! I don’t know what I would do without this app. I basically rely on it to keep me motivated. Also, what a bonus that it shows me ways to reduce my risk of getting breast cancer! People should be hitting the installing button every second if they want to be fit and be aware of how they want to live. Love love love love this app!”

In addition, the app will keep you up to date with B4BC’s Check One, Two™ Outreach Tour, Team Riders and B4BC events, where you can join the growing community of advocates by volunteering or participating in outreach activities throughout the U.S.

With a 4+ rating out of 5 stars, users are excited about this app released Jan. 9, 2013.

In her review, Volley Dollie wrote, “Stoked on B4BC’s new app. The BSE self-reminder is super helpful and I love seeing all the cool events and programs. Keep up the good work!”

The B4BC is free, so why not give it a go? You have nothing to lose. Hopefully, the developer will consider writing a Windows and Android version to widen this app’s reach.
