This past weekend, March 14–17, the Holiday Valley Freestyle Team hosted the Eastern Qualifying Series East Coast Young Gun and Junior Championships, also known as B Champs.

Three separate venues were built for the event — a full slopestyle course on Snoozer, a traditional upright aerial site on Foxfire, and a 200- meter long bump course on Yodeler. B Champs runs as two simultaneous events with the  J5s, J6s and J7s competing in the Young Guns and the J1s, J2s, J3s and J4s competing in the Juniors, with each group cycling through the venues.

A different event for each group was run each day covering three full days of competition. An additional day of training preceded the event on Thursday. Teams from 20 different ski areas, and as far away as Sunday River, Maine, made the trip, and all felt the trip was well worthwhile. There were many compliments from the different teams that made the trip. Comments included “best B-Champs ever” and “looking forward to the return trip next year.”
