Country and Bluegrass Festival in Springville July 26

The Concord Historical Society has begun planning the third annual Fiddler’s Green Country and Bluegrass Festival, scheduled for July 26.

The festivities will be held on Franklin St. in Springville, from the Fiddler’s Green Park, to the Historical Society’s circa 1890’s General Store at Franklin and Main.

The first “Fiddle Fest” was held in 2012 as part of the Town of Concord’s Bicentennial Celebration. In  2013, the name of the event was changed slightly in order to recognize the early name for the Springville/Concord area, “Fiddler’s Green.”

Six bands will provide continuous Country and Bluegrass music from noon until 6 p.m. In addition, the festival committee is planning to add crafters, food vendors, a Colonial encampment in Fiddler’s Green Park and historical demonstrations.

An entertainment tent will be available for informal acoustic jamming throughout the day.

A Community Round and Square Dance will also be held Saturday evening in the Town Hall with a performance by the WNY Cloggers Association.

Festival meetings are open to the public and held every other Friday at 10 a.m. in the court room at the Concord Town Hall.  The next meeting is Friday, April 4.
