CTE Grad Takes Silver at WorldSkills Americas

Bogotá, Columbia – Jacob Wozniak of Springville, N.Y., beat out competitors from 20 countries to bring home a silver medal in cabinetmaking at the WorldSkills Americas competition April 1-6, 2014, in Bogotá.

Mr. Wozniak was one of two World Team members that SkillsUSA sent to South America, along with their technical experts, to represent the United States.  WorldSkills International promotes vocational education by providing a means of exchange and comparison of world-class competency standards in the industrial trades and service sectors.

A graduate of Cattaraugus-Allegany BOCES, Mr. Wozniak further developed his skills while a student in instructor Terry Fuller’s Building Technology class at the Career and Technical Education Center at Ellicottville.
