SALAMANCA — Show some love for Allegany State Park during the third annual Love My Park Day sponsored by New York Parks and Trails. Love My Park Day gives volunteers the opportunity to give back to the park they love, by spending a day participating in various projects that improve and enhance the Allegany experience for visitors.
This year’s event will be held on Saturday, May 3 on the Quaker side of the park. Projects include trails maintenance, picnic table assembly, fire pit clean up, and litter pick up.
Check in/registration on May 3 is from 9–10 a.m. at the Quaker Store Museum. Projects will be worked on from 10 a.m.–2 p.m. Volunteers are asked to bring a lunch and dress for the weather and to get dirty.
Interested participants should pre-register for Love My Park Day at http://www.ptny.org/ilovemypark.
Walk-in volunteers will also be welcomed the day of the event. For more information, contact the Allegany State Park Recreation Department at (716) 354-9101, ext. 236. So bring it on in and show Allegany some love!
