ECS varsity baseball finished up the week 3-0 with wins over Franklinville 4-1, Archbishop Walsh 6-5, and with a walk off double by freshmen Preston Hutchinson to beat back the Forestville Hornets. They conclude their regular season this week and march into the Class D playoffs. The modified baseball team has not lost a game since the first game of the season and have won games over Cattaraugus/Little Valley, Pine Valley and North Collins, and will finish out the season against Portville and Franklinville.

ECS varsity softball has finished the week 2-3 with wins over West Valley and Forestville, and losses to Franklinville, North Collins and Forestville. The team is scheduled to finish up its regular season this week and begin play in the Class D playoffs. The girls’ modified softball team has beaten back North Collins and West Valley in the past weeks.

ECS track, in a combined team with Franklinville, are off to a 5-4 record for the boys and 5-4 for the girls. They beat West Valley in their last meet. Marissa Hamilton has qualified for the Super 8 meet in the discus and Hannah Doro in the triple jump.

In ECLV Little League Action, the Ayrhart Orioles beat the Bank of Cattaraugus Dodgers in a battle of the pitchers, with Steven Rowland pitching a perfect game into the fifth inning and Nicholas Schilace throwing a no hitter into the fourth. Both boys were the Emery Lafferty Players of the game. The Orioles are 1-3 with non-league losses to Randolph, Allegany and Salamanca. The Dodgers are 0-3 with losses, as well, to Allegany and Franklinville.

In Minor League play, the Fitzpatrick & Weller Indians are off to a 2-1 start with wins over West Valley Legionnaires 2-2 and the Funke Machine Royals 0-1. They took a tough loss to Salamanca Pirates in the first game against West Valley. Braedyn Palmatier and Ryan Dekay were the Emery Lafferty Players of the games. The CCB Mets are 1-1 and the Aldrich Painting Reds are 0-1. In the game between the Reds and Mets K2, Kaleb Kilby was the Reds Emery Lafferty player of the game.

In softball action, the Standing Seam Pirates beat the Summer Local Blue Jays, and the Cattaraugus Fire Diamond Backs beat Salamanca 20-6.
