Plastic ducks racing down a creek, eating ice cream without a spoon, cows playing “Bossie Bingo” and more, all at this year’s Western New York Dairy/Agricultural Festival in historic Springville!
The 26th annual, family- oriented and non-alcoholic event kicks off on Friday, June 6 from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. with unique food booths, amusement rides and live music, featuring Terry “Elvis” Buckwald on stage from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Friday’s 5 p.m. kick-off program includes the drawing of $1,000, plus Springville shopping spree winners, announcing the three student window painting winners of Main St. merchant store windows and the crowning of the 2014-15 Erie County Dairy Princess and Ambassador.
This moo-velous festival swings into high gear Saturday, June 7 from 10 a.m. until 11 p.m. Unique events will take place, including a fabulous parade starting at 10 a.m.
New this year: 175th Erie County Fair Animal Education Tent, Bossie Bingo, Farmer’s Market, Farm Bus Tours, WNY Events/Festivals/Fairs Trade Show, gardening lectures and the Bertrand Chaffee Hospital Health Fair in the Town Hall, and horseshoe and baseball tournaments.
A huge food court, dairy and ag events, pizza and ice cream eating contests, historic trolly tours, craft and Chamber trade shows, the Ducky Derby, Civil War encampment and much more round out the event.
Enjoy constant live music by seven popular bands on stage from noon to 10:30 p.m., when the fireworks begin.
The festival continues Sunday, June 8, from noon to 5 p.m. with more live music, rides and vendors.
