Kick off summer with a bang, or perhaps just the gentle thwack of a putter, at Springville Center for the Arts (SCA) Gala and Mini Golf fundraising event on June 13-14!

An artisan designed nine-hole course begins in the theater, and meanders around the building and through the large entertainment tent.

Festivities begin Friday, June 13 with a family putt from 3-6 p.m. and again on Saturday, June 14 from noon – 3 p.m. Golf admission for family putt is $5 per person or $15 for a team of four. The course includes a dragon by Paul Boccolucci, a replica of the planned green roof on Art’s Cafe by Rich Federowicz, a very large guitar by Dave Brown, and more.

A youth battle of the bands cranks up the fun from 3-6 p.m. on Saturday with a $500 cash prize. Guest Judges include Buffalo Music Hall of Famer, Bob James and former local rocker Jaime Rowitsch. Trailer Park Mafia, The Middle Class and Deploy the Slide will all give showcase performances. Admission to the battle is $10 and includes golf.

At 7 p.m., the main event begins with basket raffles, silent auctions, music and other entertainment. Two stages feature Brazilian flute tango by Julie Tunstall, jazz duets with Judy Wright and Alex Sabuda, acoustic music by Nick Kody, improv comedy by Just Go With It and the Springville Jazz Orchestra will close out the night.

Food spreads will feature fine cheeses, and  sweet and savory crepes will also be served, along with wine and beer.

Golf teams will compete for the grand prize – the Coiltown Cup – designed by Tom Irish with Gerry Hashagen.

This year’s event will highlight the renovations underway at the Center as a new roof, classroom addition and masonry restoration give a new look to the 1869 former church.

Proceeds from the event support ongoing community arts programs.

Admission to the main Gala is $20 presale and $25 at the door. Golf teams can compete for $10.

Don’t miss this great opportunity to support the local arts while having a blast with family and friends!

Tickets are available by calling 592-9038, online at www.SpringvilleArts.org or in person at Arts Underground, 66 East Main Street, Springville.
