Emery Lafferty’s young life was taken away too soon from us. He lost his life on April 20, 2014, in Dansville, N.Y., while playing football, and he was struck and killed by a car. His smile and personality were infectious and his loss has brought great sorrow to our community and our sports families. We are raising money to help the family with medical and funeral expenses. The event is organized by the Little Eagles football program.
The Emery Lafferty Benefit is this Saturday, June 21, and starts at noon at the Yodeler Lodge at Holiday Valley. Holiday Valley has graciously donated the use of the building and is providing some food and beverages the day of the event. There will be a drive-thru chicken BBQ for $10 supplied by Krolick’s Bar-B-Q in Arcade, N.Y. In addition, there will be music provided by DJ Dan LaCroix and others, with possible live bands out on the deck!
Attendees can look forward to Chinese auctions, raffles and 50/50 drawings throughout the day. Organizers are still requesting baskets and raffle items, which can be brought to the benefit site Friday night after 6 p.m. or the day of the event before noon!
Pre-sale tickets are $10. Chicken BBQ tickets are also being sold separately in advance for $10. In addition, there are 50/50 pre-sale tickets for sale.
If you can donate a basket or item, please contact us. If you would like to make a monetary donation, please make the checks out to the Little Eagles and with Emery’s Eagles on the memo line.
