Rally in the Valley Six Days This Year

OLEAN – The Rally in the Valley Committee has increased this year’s event to six days! Rally will be held Tuesday, Aug. 19 through Sunday, Aug. 24. The Rally Warm Up Event will be moved to Tuesday, Aug. 19 at the CUTCO/KA-Bar parking lot. Music, food, Commemorative CUTCO Rally knife, raffle prizes are all part of this two-hour event to kickstart the event.

Dennis Jones, Rally co-chair, stated, “Technically, the new day is Wednesday, Aug. 20, 6–10 p.m.! Join us for Wild Hog Wednesday! This new day will be at War Veterans Park — music, food and fun! Sparky’s Pizza will be the food caterer that night and we hope to have hog wings, pulled pork and maybe a pig roast.” Music for Wednesday will be Steel Reign.

Community Bank’s Banking on a Good Time Street Dance held on Aug. 21 on Laurens Street 7–10 p.m., and will include line dancing, games, food and drinks, the Rally Harley Davidson Raffle and music by West.

Corporate support has once again come to the Rally in the Valley. Four companies have come on as $2,500 day sponsors including the Olean Area Federal Credit Union, Stroehmann’s/Bimbo Bakeries and Leisure Time Powersports. Certo Brothers are again sponsoring the Friday night fireworks.

Olean Area Federal Credit Union’s Kickstart to Rally and Tough Enough to Wear Pink Friday will be Aug. 22. The rally will kickstart the weekend with a Motorcycle Parade with a new start time of 5:30 p.m. The rally encourages all to wear pink to the rally in honor of breast cancer survivors and loved ones.

The rally will feature four parachutists from Free Fall Oz who will “drop” into the stadium around 7 p.m. Be a part of the jump by taking a chance on their Drop in on the Plate contest. Also, a fireworks show presented by Mike’s Hard Lemonade will happen after dark. A free concert will feature The Porcelain Bus Drivers. The Rally will also present the seventh annual BYOBW — Bring your own Big Wheel Adult Race! The event runs until 11 p.m.

Stroehmann’s/BIMBO Bakeries Saturday Fun & Games will take place Aug. 23, 11 a.m.–11 p.m. The stadium will turn into a street festival with a variety of activities, including bike contests, bands, food and vendors. Come as spectator or, even better, a participant. Test your motorcycling skills and balance at the Biker Rodeo. Compete for a chance to win cash prizes.

Caricatures by Eric Jones will be drawing up cartoon drawings of folks. Musical entertainment on Saturday includes The Girls, Fat Brat, and Trolls.

Back again this year — the Street Masters Car Show! Hotrods, Ratrods, Kustoms, Classics, Muscle, Original, Burnfinds, Gassers, Drag Cars,  bikes, whatever … come down and be a part of the show. Car registration begins 9 a.m. with dash plaques to the first 100 cars. Sheila G’s dragster will be part of the show.

Leisure Time PowerSports Dice Run Day is Sunday, Aug. 24. The dice run through Western New York begins at 11 a.m. and will offer $2,000 in cash prizes. Music will be provided by The Hootn’anges. Other activities include a Corn Hole Tournament.
