Veteran’s Pow Wow in Salamanca July 18: Event Steeped in Tradition

The Marvin “Joe” Curry Veterans Pow Wow, formally known as the Seneca Casino Veteran’s Pow Wow, is an annual contest pow wow in honor of our veterans. This event is held every year at the Veterans Memorial Park on Broad Street in Salamanca, N.Y., the third weekend of July – this year July 18–20.

This alcohol-free, family-friendly event celebrates the culture and heritage of the Seneca Nation featuring real Native American arts and crafts. Authentic Native American foods, such as shortcakes, corn soup and fried breads will be available.

Impressive dance and drum contests feature participants of all ages in colorful Native costumes, who come from many states to participate in the annual weekend.

This event is made possible through the hard work of Iroquois Post 1587, as well as support from the Seneca Nation and the Seneca Allegany Casino.
