Family-Friendly, Signature Barbeque and Blues Acts
By Eva Potter
You may have heard of the Armor Inn in Hamburg, N.Y., a place to take your whole family for affordable, lip-smacking BBQ and lively, nationally known blues acts for the adults.
Well, Ellicottville is preparing to welcome the Armor Inn’s second location in the Village Centre plaza, next to the Kwik Fill gas station and Red Apple store on Mill Street, hopefully in the very near future.
After JC Seneca, owner of the Armor Inn in Hamburg, spoke with various connections in Ellicottville, he decided to expand his business plan to include a second restaurant in the village.
Village Centre development owner, Ellicott Development, Co., has submitted plans to the Ellicottville Village Planning Board and is in the process of getting the necessary approvals.
Once approved, the Armor Inn can begin customization of the building attached to the back of Red Apple. Plans include a small addition to the side of the building to accommodate a bathroom and storage area. The hope is to have the restaurant open this fall.
“I chose this building because of the location,” said Seneca. “We have a lot to offer Ellicottville and we’re excited to be a part of this community.”
Within walking distance of shops, overnight accommodations and other village amenities, the Armor Inn will soon become one of Ellicottville’s must try eateries.
The Armor Inn will offer high quality eats, including their BBQ specialties, at great prices. The family-friendly dining experience even considers the younger set — they can choose from delicious selections from their own kids’ menu. A family restroom rounds out the convenience features.
Restaurant plans show seating for approximately 175, some possibly outside, and like its Hamburg counterpart, will have a comfortable bar area that will make a welcoming gathering place.
Adults can look forward to evening entertainment on stage with plans to bring in big name, national blues acts.
According to Seneca, the Armor Inn wants to be an active participant in and supporter of the Ellicottville community.
“We want to be involved in everything that happens in Ellicottville,” Seneca said. “We not only want to promote our brand and business, but we want to promote all the businesses in Ellicottville.”
