With the help of Holiday Valley, John Harvard’s Brew House and Tom Kneeland, the Rotary Club of Ellicottville is hosting their 2014 fundraiser Tuscan Moon on Saturday, Aug. 23. Ask anyone who has attended this great party in the past and you will get a differing opinion on the best part of this event, but come and see for yourself.
The great food — this is for sure a highlight, as you can sample an Italian specialty from one of the 15 participating restaurants. From great appetizers like Crab Stuffed Artichoke Hearts from Katy’s Café to a main course like Wild Boar Lasagna from the Silver Fox, you will taste the best of the best. To start off the feast, the appetizers are served by volunteers from Ellicottville Central Schools’ sports programs.
With serving stations for each restaurant, you can try a little of everything or a lot of your favorites, either way you will be impressed with the great gourmet choices on the menu. Believe me, you will get your fill, but be smart and save room for the best dessert table you have ever seen.
Tom Kneeland and Watson’s Chocolates combine to create a 20-foot table of the most decadent creations you have ever seen. Check out the menu posted in many establishments in town or online at http://www.ellicottvilleny.com/tuscan-moon.
The silent auction — many come for the great bargains to be had with over 30 baskets to bid on and a number of great surprises.
The live auction — provides some great opportunities to see the Sabres with great club seats. Many unique items, like CUTCO knife sets, a McCarthy birdhouse or a round of Golf at Springville Country Club, are sold well below retail in this fun auction.
The music — The Strangers provide the entertainment for the evening as Buffalo’s favorite party band. This year the stage has been moved to the far end of the patio to open up the dance floor for this always entertaining cover band.
The people — this is the real heart of the evening, with a well-rounded group of over 200 people from all over. The camaraderie and good-natured fun is had by all in this great setting around the pools at John Harvard’s Cabana Bar Complex.
So whatever your reason, come out and help support the many good things that the Rotary Foundation and Family Support for Ellicottville do for the community. You will feel great — we guarantee it!
