Ask anyone who has attended Michael Kerns fundraiser parties in the past and you will get a variety of opinions about the best part of this annual event. Isn’t it time you come and see what you’ve been missing?
On Saturday, Aug. 23, the Rotary Club of Ellicottville is hosting their 2014 fundraiser Tuscan Moon: A Tribute to Michael Kerns. And it’s all made possible with the help of Holiday Valley, John Harvard’s Brew House and Tom Kneeland.
There are so many special reasons to attend this year’s gourmet cocktail and dinner party, which begins at 6 p.m. at the John Harvard’s Pool Complex at Holiday Valley.
The fantastic food is a delight to the senses, highlighted by this year’s sampling of Italian specialties from 15 participating restaurants. From mouthwatering starters like Crab Stuffed Artichoke Hearts from Katy’s Café to a main course of Wild Boar Lasagna from the Silver Fox, you will taste the best of the best Ellicottville has to offer. Adding a special touch to this portion of the meal — the appetizers will be served by volunteers from ECS sports programs.
With serving stations for each restaurant, you can try a little of everything or a lot of your favorites, either way you will be impressed with the great gourmet choices on the menu.
You definitely won’t go home hungry, but be smart and save room for the best dessert table you have ever seen. Tom Kneeland and Watson’s Chocolates combine to create a 20-foot table of the most sinfully decadent creations. Check out the menu posted in many establishments around town or online at http://www.ellicottvilleny.com/tuscan-moon.
If you’re looking for a great bargain, then come for the Silent Auction. With more than 30 baskets up for bidding and a number of great surprises, it’s time to get your competitive game on.
The Live Auction provides some great opportunities to see the Sabres from great club seats. Many unique items like superior quality CUTCO knife sets, a custom-designed McCarthy birdhouse or a round of golf at Springville Country Club are sold well below retail in this fun auction.
The Strangers, Buffalo’s favorite party band, will provide the live musical entertainment for the evening. This year, the stage has been moved to the far end of the patio to open up the dance floor for this always-entertaining cover band.
And of course, you should come to be with the people, who represent the real heart of the evening. A well-rounded group of over 200 people from all over come to this annual event for the camaraderie and good-natured fun in this gorgeous slopeside setting around the pools at John Harvard’s Cabana Bar Complex at Holiday Valley.
So whatever your reason, come out and help support the many good things that the Rotary Foundation and Family Support for Ellicottville do for the community. You will feel great. We guarantee it!
Tickets can be purchased at the Gin Mill, Katy’s Café, Natures Remedy and E-Ville Spirits & Wines, or call (716) 699-8758. See you there!
