Christmas in Ellicottville November 28-30

Once again, the sights and sounds of the Christmas season will begin in Ellicottville the day after Thanksgiving, on Friday, Nov. 28. The annual Christmas in Ellicottville celebration spans the weekend and is sure to have something for everyone!

Don’t miss the tree lighting ceremony on Friday, Nov. 28 at 6 p.m. Santa will be there to lead the event, and guests can warm up with hot cocoa.

Throughout the weekend, visitors will enjoy fire truck rides with Santa (Friday, 12 to 2 p.m., Saturday 1 to 3 p.m.)and horse and wagon rides in Washington Square (Friday and Saturday 1 to 4 p.m., Sunday 12 to 2 p.m.).

Looking to see the Big Guy up close? Meet Santa at the Wingate by Wyndham, 2:15 to 3:30 p.m. on Friday,  3:15 to 4:15 p.m. on Saturday and 12 to 1 p.m. on Sunday, or enjoy a free pancake breakfast with him at the Barn Restaurant Saturday and Sunday mornings from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Consider bringing a donation for the Ellicottville Food Pantry!

Want to really wow the kids? Be sure to check out the live reindeer at the 1887 Building, Friday 4 to 6 p.m., during the village tree lighting, Saturday 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. and Sunday 1 to 3 p.m.

Other weekend activities include interactive children’s activities at the Wingate by Wyndham, Friday 1:30 to 3 p.m., Saturday 2 to 3:30 p.m. and Sunday 11:30 to 1 p.m., and the Seneca Junction Strolling Quartet Friday 5 to 7 p.m. and Saturday 1 to 4 p.m.

Of course, the village businesses will be decked out for the holidays too.

Starting on Friday, merchants will have their windows decorated in a theme of their favorite Christmas movie, competing for the title of “Best Window” for the season.

As you stroll through the Village, snap a picture of your favorite window and post it to the Ellicottville Chamber of Commerce’s Facebook page (www.facebook.com/Ellicottville) or Twitter page (twitter.com/Eville_NY) during the official dates of the contest for a chance to win a four-pack of tickets to a Summer Music Festival concert.
