250 Works of Art Only $25 Each

It’s happening again — the 5×7: Art for Everyone art party and sale is taking place this Saturday, Dec. 6, 6–9 p.m., at 100 W. Main St. in Allegany. The event is presented by the Cattaraugus County Arts Council (CCAC) with many thanks to our business sponsor, Fox Financial, for helping make this event possible.

At 6 p.m., the doors will open for the preview portion of this unique fundraising event for the arts council. General admission is only $15 per person and includes catered hors d’oeuvres by Sheila Darrow and happy hour drinks.

That evening, CCAC’s expansive gallery wall transforms into a display guaranteed to wow even the most jaded art collector with more than 250 colorful, one-of-a-kind original works of art donated by regional emerging and professional artists.

It’s a stunning collection of 5” x 7” hangable works of art, including paintings, jewelry, drawings, tiles, sculpture, fiber art, mixed media and more — each selling for only $25. What a great way to start or top off your holiday shopping!

This year’s impressive artist list includes Ellen Paquette, Mikel Wintermantel, Rick Minard, Karen Fitzpatrick, Barbara Fox, Gerald Mead, Wanda Dean, Todd Plough, Denise Drummond, Elliott Hutten, Phil Hastings, Robert Hirsch, Patti Rosenswie, Ardyth Van Scoy, Anne Conroy-Baiter, Melissa Meyer, Patricia Eckstrom, Deb Weatherell, Penelope Minner, Mike Weishan, Eileen Weishan, Betty Runkle, John Balacki, to mention a few in no particular order.

To level the playing field, value and name recognition have been erased. All work will be displayed anonymously in order for supporters to purchase works for pure pleasure. Of course, artists will identify themselves on the back of each work.

If you are the owner of a $50 First Pick ticket (only 30 sold), you will have first dibs on these gorgeous pieces. As of publication, there are only a few First Pick tickets left. Check availability at www.myartscouncil.net (click on 5×7 toward bottom left, PayPal accepted), email tina@myartscouncil.net or call (716) 372-7455.

At 7:30 p.m., the general sale of the remaining artwork will be available for purchase by guests, creating spirited competition as they lay claim to the special pieces they’ve been eyeing all evening. Guests can check out or stay and enjoy the party until it ends at 9 p.m.

The remaining artwork will hang on the gallery wall through the holiday season with pieces available for sale at $25. CCAC is open 9 a.m.–4 p.m., Monday–Friday.
