Barbershop Chorus Finds New Home

Performs Jan. 31 to
Benefit Food Pantry

The newly renamed a capella men’s chorus, Ellicottville Sound Chorus, has made its new home in Ellicottville.

The chorus, formerly known as the Seneca Junction Chorus of Salamanca, performs barbershop harmony, a uniquely American musical art form known for its four-part harmony and the “expanded sound” created by its consonance, unique chord structure and vocal placement.

The chorus has been invited to participate in the Ellicottville Christmas caroling festivities with great success. Because they’ve enjoyed doing this so much, and received such rousing support from the community and its leaders, the group thought that they would fully embrace this very welcoming place to share their gift of music.

With a new name and a new home at the Ellicottville United Church, they look forward to supporting the community as part of their “Servi-Sing our Communities” program.

Their first performance will be to provide musical entertainment for the United Church Community Food Pantry benefit on Jan. 31, 2015. Their ongoing service project theme is, “We sing to feed them all.”

Admission will be a food donation.

Mark your calendars to support the unique stylings of this musical group and help the community in the process!
