The members of the Steering Committee of the Ken Brown 700 Club met recently to decide on allocations to local organizations, following another successful year of fundraising for the Club.
The committee announced that it will provide support to the Ellicottville Public Charities, the Alley Katz, Nannen Arboretum, the Ellicottville Library, the Cattaraugus County Recreational Trail, Almost Home Animal Sanctuary, Lounsbury Adaptive Ski Program at Holiday Valley, the Phoenix Adaptive Ski Program at HoliMont and Empire Animal Rescue Service. In addition, the committee and will set up an award, known as The Ken Brown Memorial Award, at Ellicottville Central School. The winner will exemplify the spirit of community involvement set over many years by the Club’s founder, Ken Brown.
The donations outlined above total $7,900, the highest in the club’s 15 year existence. It brings the total donated to the community over the years to more than $50,000.
