SAM Magazine and HKD Snowmakers have opened up the voting for the second annual HKD Snowmaker’s I AM a Snowmaker Award.
Over the course of the 2014-15 season, SAM Magazine and HKD Snowmakers joined to recognize six outstanding snowmakers from mountain resorts across North America.
These unsung heroes were asked to share their stories—their hardships, their successes, and their passion—and that one moment they thought, “I want to be a snowmaker.”
The six snowmakers recognized this season include Chris Tefft of Smugglers’ Notch, VT., Jeff Clancy of Holiday Valley, Darren Wasyliuk of Lake Louise, Alberta, Seth Cook of Park City, Utah, Bradley Grubb of Ski Bromont, Quebec, and John Mersereau of Cranmore, NH. Voters can check out their profiles and watch their personal videos at www.saminfo.com/iam.
“Snowmaking is critical to the success of the ski industry, and the six candidates in this year’s I AM campaign have shown the commitment and dedication to be leaders in the field,” said HKD president Charles Santry. “They are an impressive group and are strong role models for those interested in and passionate about snowmaking. My hat is off to these guys for all their hard work!”
“Snowmaking continues to take center stage as a critical piece of a resort’s overall success,” said SAM publisher Olivia Rowan. “It’s important to shine the light on these hard-working folks who are the backbone of our industry.”
Voting will close on April 7. We encourage everyone to participate.
