Celebrate the region’s arts and culture supporters and talent at the Cattaraugus County Arts Council’s Celebration of the Arts & Culture Awards Party and Fine Art Raffle on June 6 at Bartlett Country Club, 32 Euclid Ave., Olean, NY.
From 6–9 p.m., mingle with arts-and-culture-loving friends, enjoy complimentary beer, wine and soft drinks, groove to live music stylings by Ade Adu, nosh on catered hors d’oeuvres and indulge in an extravagant dessert table.
“The Arts Council is looking forward to tremendous growth in the future and we need community support to make it a reality. This event is our largest fundraiser of the year and we hope that the community will come out, support the arts in the region and enjoy this fun, new event,” said Tina Hastings, CCAC’s executive director.
“Darcy and I have a great time at the arts council’s fine art raffle party,” said past attendee Ted Branch. “We’re always amazed by the level of talent in the region.”
VIP ticket holders, present or not, are eligible for the fine art raffle drawing for one of five original artworks by acclaimed artists, including Mikel Wintermantel, Jason Green, Tom Annear and Barbara Fox, with a combined value of approximately $10,000! Their unique styles and use of media make for a grand display.
“The arts are vital to creating vibrant communities, and CCAC is dedicated to supporting artists and arts and culture programming, provides a place anyone can go to exercise their creative minds and offers inspiration to our youth. They deserve everyone’s support,” said Wintermantel about CCAC.
Everyone present is eligible for fabulous door prizes from the Friends of Good Music, Southern Tier Symphony, 1891 Fredonia Opera House, the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford and select restaurant gift certificates. Or you could score an original piece from the Silent Fine Art Auction (cash, check, credit or debit) and take it home that evening.
In addition, CCAC will present awards in five categories — Lifetime Achievement, Distinguished Artist of the Year, Emerging Talent, Supporter of the Arts & Culture and Volunteer of the Year — nominated by the public to arts and culture standouts from Cattaraugus, Chautauqua and Allegany counties. A DEC Regrant Program of the Year award will also be presented by the arts council.
Award winners are: Jennifer Miller for Distinguished Artist of the Year; Kimberly Merrill, Emerging Talent; the Derwick Family and Fox Financial, Supporter of the Arts & Culture; Susan MacKay, Volunteer of the Year; and Chase Angier, DEC Regrant Program of the Year.
The finalists for the Lifetime Achievement Award are John Whitney, Elliott Hutten and the 1891 Fredonia Opera House, but you’ll have to come to the event to congratulate the winners because we’ll be announcing them that evening.
You can purchase tickets online at www.myartscouncil.net, call 372-7455 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. Reservations are due May 29. VIP tickets (includes one Fine Art Raffle entry) are $100/person. VIP ticketholders can also increase their odds by purchasing additional raffle tickets for only $25 — with no limit — and you don’t have to be present to win! General admission tickets are $50/person and do not include a raffle entry. All who attend are eligible for door prizes and silent auction pieces.
