The third weekend in June will find The Gin Mill hosting a unique group of musicians who all bring the island-state-of-mind to life through their music.
The Gin Mill “Trop-Rock Weekend” will consist of three evenings of “Trop-Rock” and “Beach-Folk” music beginning on Thursday, June 18 and continuing through Saturday, June 20. Traveling to Ellicottville from their home state of Florida are two of the most popular artists in this genre— James “Sunny Jim” White and John Frinzi. Both of these talented artists are heard frequently on Radio Margaritaville on Sirius/XM and are very popular among the Jimmy Buffet fans known as “Parrot-Heads.” They both travel the country taking their laid-back music style to all of us who long to live by the sea and spend our days on the beach with a margarita in hand.
In addition, there will also be performances by a local musician, Bob Schiele, who hails from Hamburg performing his own brand of island music and has recently released his first CD.
To round out the weekend, there will also be a performance by the Gin Mill “House Band,” Fred & Tuck, who always know how to keep the party going!
Schedule is as follows:
Thursday, June 18– Bob Schiele, 7 p.m., Sunny Jim, 8 p..m.
Friday, June 19– John Frinzi, 7 p.m., Fred & Tuck, 10 p.m.
