New at the Library: Borrow a Telescope

The Ellicottville Memorial Library now offers a telescope for loan. To borrow, you must have a current library card, be age 17 or older and schedule time to attend a short (about 15 minutes) telescope orientation session before check-out.  Please call the library (699-2842) to set up a time for the orientation session, which will cover safety and the basic operational features of the telescope.

The telescope is a 4.5 inch reflector that is perfect for viewing the features on the moon, Venus, the rings of Saturn, Jupiter and its moons and some of the brighter deep sky objects such as the Andromeda Galaxy and bright star clusters.

This is your chance to get acquainted with the operation of a telescope and to experience the fun of seeing targets in the night sky at higher magnification than you have in the past.
