Calling all art and music lovers!

Mark your calendars for July 18-19, when the Americana Folk Art & Music Fair returns to Ellicottville. The free, family-friendly weekend takes place in the Ellicottville Village Square (Town Hall and Gazebo area), and features local artists showing their creations and demonstrating their crafts from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday and Sunday.

Check out masterpieces from several young artists, as well as artists presenting ceramics, folk art birdhouses, painting, photography, pottery, rustic furniture, stained glass, weaving and spinning, wood working and carving, and more.

In addition, a live auction of art by fair participants on Saturday at 2 p.m. will benefit the Rotary Club of Ellicottville.

Saturday will also feature a quilting workshop and quilt show all day at the Episcopal Church, across Washington Street from the Gazebo.

The event is free to all and there will be entertainment in the Gazebo featuring the Red Gray on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. with a surprise artist on Sunday.

The Rotary Club hot dog cart will also be there, along with some great homemade baked goods for all to enjoy.

Are you an artist and want to join in the fun? Bob McCarthy, an event organizers, notes that there is still room for artists to display their wares. It’s open to artists of all ages— the only requirements are that the items being sold are made by the person selling them, and that one item is donated to the auction. If interested, just show up that day and set up a free space.

For more information, call Bob McCarthy at 378-0916.
