Summer Music Fest Weekend Has Arrived

There’s no better place to spend the Fourth of July weekend than Ellicottville, where great music meets the excitement and scenery of Holiday Valley.

Kick off the holiday weekend with a Top of the Mountain Party on July 3. Take the nearly mile-long chairlift ride up Mardi Gras to a celebration, complete with drinks and hors d’oeuvres. After a ride back to the base of the mountain, the party will continue at Holiday Valley’s Main Lodge with a Caribbean Poker Night, where guests can use the “funny money” that comes with your party ticket to grow your pot and use it to bid on a variety of great auction items.

Then, celebrate July 4 with music by the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra (BPO), which takes the stage at 8 p.m. The 80-piece orchestra will be playing favorites from the Star Wars movies, while characters entertain the crowd. The sure-to-impress finale will pair the BPO with choreographed fireworks.

Classic rock anyone? On Sunday, July 5, join the GRAMMY® winning Blood, Sweat and Tears for the final night of the music festival weekend.  The band is fronted by American Idol runner-up, Bo Bice, and will take the stage after Buffalo’s own Caitlin Koch, former X-Factor competitor.

Parking for all events is free, and packing a picnic and sprawling out on a blanket to enjoy the shows is encouraged.

While Holiday Valley is headquarters to the Summer Music Festival weekend, numerous activities are also going on in the village. Don’t miss Saturday’s pet parade, an arts and crafts show both Saturday and Sunday and the strawberry festival on Sunday. See below for a complete schedule of activities. And if you’re looking for even more entertainment, check out page 3 for a complete listing of live music throughout the village all weekend long.
