Holiday Valley Presents IBO

The International Bowhunting Organization (IBO) World Championship will crown yet another World Champion at Holiday Valley Resort in scenic Ellicottville on Aug. 9. This year, some 1,700 competitors from more than 12 countries will call Ellicottville home for a week, as they compete against the finest competitors the world has to offer. The competition begins on Friday, Aug. 7, but the festivities kick off on Tuesday, Aug. 4 with chairlift rides, evening skill competitions, great food and drinks, and a host of bow suppliers and vendors.

The incredible display of accuracy throughout the competition is truly something to behold, as it isn’t uncommon to see arrows split in half with the point of another arrow. Such marksmanship is just one of the many reasons why the IBO attracts so many viewers each year. Along with the impressive field of shooters, the public is encouraged to enjoy the numerous attractions around the Yodeler Lodge throughout the week. Browse over 60 suppliers and vendors and even test out some of their equipment in the vendor village, while your kids enjoy the free bounce house area and learn about the incredible birds of prey. For those choosing the scenic route, take in an incredible aerial view of the course with a ride on the Spruce Lake Chairlift for $5. Cool down in the evening with a handful of impressive skills competitions.
