Gotta Love the Taste of Ellicottville

Taste-art

From Aug. 16-17, the Village of Ellicottville turns into a giant outdoor cafe as restaurants provide tasty samples of some of their signature menu items. For just $1-$4 per sample, you can easily fill your plates while enjoying the pleasures of dining al fresco among friends, family and fellow food lovers.

Eighteen of Ellicottville’s dining establishments will serve up sample-sized portions of their best menu items. Purchase tickets for $1 each at the centrally located ticket booths, then use them to taste a little of everything your palate desires.

A new restaurant participating in this year’s event is the Armor Inn Ellicottville, which opened its doors in late 2014. The Armor Inn will be offering Pulled Pork Sliders, Smoked BBQ Ribs, Gumbo, Chefs Special and Cheese Cake Fingers.

“We are eager to participate in this year’s event to showcase our signature BBQ,” said Kirsten Knowles, the restaurant’s general manager. In addition, the Armor Inn will be featuring live music by Digging Roots inside the restaurant at 5 E. Washington St. on Sunday from 2-6 p.m.

A long-time participating restaurant, Tips Up, has an extra special menu this year that features sushi jalepeno popper rolls, chicken enchiladas, clams casino, various gourmet pizzas and “Tom’s Mom’s Cookies.”

The tasting menu from all 18 participating restaurants will be available soon on the Ellicottville Chamber of Commerce web site (www.ellicottvilleny.com) and in next week’s edition of the Ellicottville Times.

The event takes place throughout the village from 12– 4 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday. Suggestion: bring doggie bags!
