Enjoy one last opportunity for the best fall leaf viewing around. Treat yourself to a chairlift ride up Holiday Valley’s Spruce Lake chair to Spruce Lake, and check out blazing autumn colors in the trees and reflecting in the water.

Take in the beauty of the season by hiking along the trails, and either hike back to the bottom or ride the chair down.

The Spruce chair is accessible from Tannenbaum Lodge. Rides are offered from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., weather permitting, Saturday and Sunday. Cost is $5 or free for children ages two and under.

While you’re there, why not check out Sky High Adventure Park? Get your adrenaline rush on zipping through the Aerial Park, reaching for the treetops in the Climbing Forest or flying down the mountain on the Sky Flyer Mountain Coaster.

Sky High is open Fridays through Sundays through Oct. 18, and Saturdays and Sundays only from Oct. 24 to Nov. 1, weather permitting.

Want to check out the foliage while getting in an awesome workout? Hike or mountain bike up instead. Holiday Valley’s mountain biking and hiking network consists of challenging uphill and downhill trails, logging roads and singletrack. Over 35 of miles of trails connect to McCarty Hill State Forest on the southern border of the resort.

For the nature photographer in you, bring your camera. The brilliant hues of autumn make even those iPhone shots ones worth printing!

No matter how you enjoy the last of the peak leaf season, spending the time in Ellicottville will give you scenery that’s second to none.
