Village of Ellicottville
The Village of Ellicottville provides regular curb-side garbage and recycling pickup every Monday morning. Recyclable materials (clear glass containers, recyclable plastic, cardboard, paper and cans) must be separated from regular refuse. Trash may be put out on the curb no sooner than 24 hours before pickup.
If you miss the Monday pickup deadline, please take your trash to a nearby Cattaraugus County Transfer Station. See below for a list of transfer stations and instructions.
Persons seen dumping trash in private dumpsters or on someone else’s private property may be ticketed by police or authorized Village personnel.
If any of the following holidays fall on a Monday, that week’s pickup will be the following day: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Christmas Day.
Major garbage (e.g. furniture, appliances, etc.) pickup in the Village occurs on the last Monday of January, April, June, July, September, and November. Major garbage may be put out no more than 72 hours before pickup. Please confirm major pickup dates with the Village Clerk at (716) 699-4636.
Lawn and gardening brush removal by the Village will take place ONLY on May 9, 2016 and June 13, 2016. Residents are responsible for arranging for brush disposal at all other times.
Town of Ellicottville
The Town of Ellicottville does NOT provide trash service to residents. Trash and recyclables may be taken to a Cattaraugus County transfer station. The closest transfer stations to Ellicottville are the Five Points Transfer Station at 6909 Toad Hollow Rd., Mansfield, NY 14755 and the Salamanca Transfer Station at 289 Center St., Salamanca, NY 14779. Please note: You must purchase “dump tickets” BEFORE arriving at a transfer station. In Ellicottville, dump tickets may be purchased at Tops Market. Visit the refuse division Web site for additional ticket purchase locations and pricing.
