Seven area charitable organizations received grants recently from the Mahar Family Foundation at the Cattaraugus Region Community Foundation just in time for the holidays.
The CRCF board of directors recently approved annual grants from the Mahar Family Foundation Fund for a total of $1,000, according to Karen Niemic Buchheit, CRCF Executive Director.
The following organizations received grants for the amounts listed:
Genesis House – $150
Interfaith Caregivers – $100
Mercy Flight of Western New York – $200
Portville Food Pantry – $100
St. Mary of the Angels Church – for the community Christmas dinner – $100
SPCA in Cattaraugus County – $200
Wider Opportunities for Greater Olean – $150
The Mahar Family Fund was established by the late Francis Mahar and his wife, Roberta Mahar, in memory of Francis, Margaret and Daniel Mahar. Each year the fund supports several different charitable causes.
Established in 1994, the Cattaraugus Region Community Foundation is growing good by connecting donors to the causes they care about most in the region. Grants from the foundation support many areas, including education, scholarships, health care, the arts, community development, human service, and youth development.
