It’s no secret that Ellicottville is a great place to be, combining a small-town atmosphere with big city amenities. Holiday Valley Weddings
It’s hard to imagine a more memorable location than Holiday Valley, and choosing the perfect location within the resort for the ceremony is easy when you have so many options.
Katelyn Mueller, Certified Wedding & Event Planner and Catering Sales Manager for Centerplate at Holiday Valley, noted that Holiday Valley offers various locations for the nuptials.
The Champagne Sundeck, located just outside Yodeler Lodge, is a gorgeous outdoor patio offering couples two unique options for an on-site ceremony: in front of the natural flowing waterfall or under the pavilion in front of a stone fireplace. This location is reserved for couples having their reception at the Yodeler Lodge.
The Tamarack Green overlooking the golf course or the Resort Services Deck with the Mardi Gras lift in the background are the onsite ceremony locations reserved for couples having their reception at the Holiday Valley Lodge.
The Tannenbaum Lodge features an indoor ceremony location for smaller ceremonies of 100 or less,” Mueller added.
Finally, a hilltop ceremony is also offered as an option to all couples. Those choosing this option can ride the Mardi Gras or Yodeler chair lift to the top of the hill and be married with a gorgeous view overlooking the valley. “The hilltop ceremony, with or without an optional cocktail hour, is unlike any other,” said Mueller, “Couples and guests enjoy a ride up the chairlift to arrive at a private hilltop ceremony overlooking the valley. Enjoy cocktail hour on the hill complete with beer, wine, soda and hot and cold hors d‘oeuvres for you and your guests to enjoy.”
Following the ceremony, Holiday Valley offers reception space at all three of its beautiful lodges.
The second floor of the Holiday Valley Lodge can accommodate 80-280 guests, Yodeler Lodge can hold 150-230 guests and Tannenbaum Lodge can accommodate 50-150 guests.
Decor can be customized to the couple’s personal taste. “Woodland and natural themes are prominent this year,” Mueller said. “Couples are opting to incorporate the outdoors where and whenever possible. Holiday Valley is the perfect setting for a rustic woodland theme, just take a look out our wall to wall, floor to ceiling windows and one can see why!”
Menus are prepared by Centerplate at Holiday Valley, with a wide array of mouth-watering and unique food and beverage packages.
“The most popular menus currently are the three-course slope-side menu and the non-traditional heavy hors d ‘oeuvres reception,” explained Mueller. “Buffets seem to be fading in popularity; stations are more appealing to the current bride.”
HV’s wedding booklet provides menus that can be mixed and matched and customized to meet the client’s vision, including all kinds of add-ons to make the day extra special. “One popular add-on that can make quite the impact is greeting guests with a glass of champagne and fresh strawberries as they enter the cocktail hour,” Mueller explained.
Working with the couple along the way is a must, and HV is happy to accommodate special requests. “We’ve had several requests for locally grown and organic foods to be the highlight of the reception menu,” said Mueller. “Our chef is constantly working to pair entrees with locally grown vegetables and starches, but some couples wish to go beyond just the entrée pairings. Working side by side with the couple, Holiday Valley can research local poultry and produce farms to price out a menu that will be truly unique for their day.”
“One thing that sets Holiday Valley far apart from the competition is our service,” explained Mueller. “Throughout the process, we have multiple one-on-one visits and a menu tasting to help plan the wedding of your dreams.” Come the day of the wedding, Mueller is on-site to coordinate all vendors and staff and keep the day running smoothly to ensure the bride and groom do not have a worry in the world but to enjoy their special day.
“In addition, the wedding party will be staffed with a head server whose sole responsibility is to provide service to the wedding party, from preparing drinks to serving dinner, the head server is there for anything the couple may need,” Mueller said.
For many people, of course, a wedding isn’t just a one-day event. By heading to Holiday Valley, the bride and groom can offer their guests a weekend filled with memories and fun.
The wedding party and guests can make their big day last all weekend with all the activities the resort has to offer including golf, ziplining at Sky High Adventure Park, riding the mountain coaster and enjoying the poolside Cabana Bar. Plus, John Harvard’s Brew House is a great place for a rehearsal dinner or after party, and special breakfast packages are available for the post-wedding day.

HoliMont members and non-members alike can choose to have their ceremony amidst the tranquil hills of the resort inside the chalet lodge, outside the lodge in front of the slopes or on top of the hill via a chairlift ride.
After the ceremony, the couple can work with HoliMont’s staff to create a dream reception inside and outside the beautiful chalet, which can accommodate weddings with up to 350 guests.
“We offer full service wedding planning services from decorating to logistics for your special day,” said Dina DiPasquale, owner of Dina’s at the Mont. “We don’t do ‘cookie cutter’ weddings. Every bride and groom’s day is planned around their tastes, budget and style.”
Catering for weddings is also provided by Dina’s, and couples can choose from a diverse menu selection that’s sure to impress.
“Chicken Cecelia on Dina’s Restaurant’s menu has been very popular,” said owner Dina DiPasquale, describing the dish as a “lightly breaded, pan-fried, free range chicken breast served with potato rissole and topped with arugula, oven roasted tomatoes, freshly shaved parmesan cheese and a balsamic reduction.”
In addition to a delicious, customized wedding reception menu, Dina’s creates magnificent cakes, menus for rehearsal dinners and post-wedding send-off brunches.
Couples can also offer their guests chair lift rides and late night snacks from the Dina’s food truck for that added “wow” factor.
