Get out of the house and come join in the fun as Allegany State Park launches a new series of hikes called “3rd Saturday Treks.” As the name implies, these free, family-friendly hikes will take place on the 3rd Saturday of each month from April through October. These treks will be led by park staff, members of the Allegany State Park Friends Group, or Historical Society members and each will focus on a different area of the park.
This month’s 3rd Saturday Trek will take place on May 21 Participants will explore various features of the Quaker Run Area and their historical significance. This easy guided hike, suitable for all ages, will give you a look into the past to the beginning of Allegany State Park while enjoying the park’s present charm. The hike will begin at 10 a.m. Participants are asked to meet in the parking lot across from the Quaker Rental Office and to come dressed to hike and for the weather.
Each hike will last approximately two hours. Registration is not required. For more information, visit the Allegany State Park Facebook page or contact Katie Vecellio at (716) 354-9101 x236 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
