There’s no better place to start enjoying the summer months than the historic village of Randolph, NY.
The Randolph Area Community Development Corporation (RACDC) is hosting its 44th Annual Arts and Crafts Festival on Saturday, June 18 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dozens of craft and food vendors will line Main Street with their handmade wares and tasty treats, and a day of live entertainment, contests and raffles is sure to keep visitors busy.
On the lawn between Bank Street and Forget-Me-Not Flowers and Gifts, a variety of entertainers are scheduled throughout the festival. The day begins with a performance by Old Dawg Bluegrass, one of the area’s most popular local bands, and is followed by a performance by Randolph’s Expressions Performing Arts Center’s dancers. Throughout the afternoon, the Kokomo Times Band of Fredonia will be entertaining festival-goers with all kinds of feel-good music, especially the Beach Boys!
For those more competitive visitors, the Arts and Crafts Festival promises several opportunities to get involved. The Dog Show, in which visitors can enter their dogs in one of the various categories for judging, is taking place at 11 a.m. All dog show entrants register at the RACDC information booth in front of Community Bank, N.A. beginning at 10:30 a.m.
Then at noon on the front lawn of Senn-Sations Salon and Day Spa, the Beautiful Baby Contest will take place: all babies 12 months or younger are invited to participate in this event sponsored by Randolph’s favorite salon. Registration begins at 11 a.m. at the salon.
Feeling lucky? Throughout the day, the RACDC will be selling raffle tickets for a brand new, John Deere D105 riding lawnmower at the information booth! The mower, valued at $1,500, is on display at Landmark Chevrolet on Main Street in Randolph, where tickets are on sale now. The winner will be announced at the end of the festival (winner need not be present to win).
Make plans to return to Randolph on July 8 and 9 for the annual Town-Wide Lawn Sale Weekend, a bargain-lover’s paradise! Beginning Thursday, July 7, maps directing visitors to the various sales will be available at several Main Street businesses including Countryside Wine & Spirits, Inkley’s Pharmacy, Randolph Retail Company, and Yarn for Ewe.
That Saturday, the RACDC will be hosting a Drive for Your Community Fundraiser in conjunction with Landmark Chevrolet at the Randolph United Presbyterian Church on Main Street.
Stop by the church between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. to test-drive a brand new Chevy and support your community! For each licensed driver who test-drives a vehicle, Landmark Chevrolet will make a donation to the RACDC for the development of community projects.
Last year’s test drive fundraiser resulted in the restoration of the Randolph Fire Hall ball field, including a repaired backstop, brand new bases, and supplies to maintain the field throughout the season. All test-drivers are invited to enjoy a free hot dog and beverage and are encouraged to check out the array of sweets at the church bake sale.
