Celebration of Life for Patti Perks Sunday, June 12

On Sunday, June 12, 2016, our family will host a “Celebration of Life” event in memory of our beloved Patti Perks, who succumbed to cancer just a few short months ago. This event, which will take place at the American Legion Post 659 in Ellicottville, NY, will be a wonderful way for all of us to remember Patti and say our final goodbyes, surrounded by family, friends, and members of the communities in which she grew up. It will be the kind of day that Patti would surely have enjoyed the most – a cookout/barbecue with good food, live music, friendly horseshoes and great company. It will be a day to share stories and celebrate the life she lived and all that she loved.

This event will also act as a fundraiser to help alleviate any remaining expenses related to Patti’s death. We have also chosen to honor Patti’s love of gardening and the outdoors by donating a portion of the proceeds to the Ellicottville Nannen Arboretum.

We are so thankful for all the support we’ve received for the event so far.  A huge thanks to our friends in the restaurant business who have offered to donate food: Dom’s Butcher Block, Slopeside BBQ, Carson’s Ashford House, desserts by Tom Kneeland, plus Sheila Button who is donating her time to put together the rest of the fixin’s fit for a perfect summertime cookout.  Many retailers and individuals in the area have also provided us with items and gift certificates for the basket raffles. There are a lot of really great prizes, and we can’t thank each of you enough for your contribution: A Touch of Ellicottville, Adventure Bound, Alexandra, Cadillac Jack’s, Carmike Theatre, Cattaraugus County IDA, The City Garage, Daff, Designs by Corine Clouse, Lynn Dubey, E-Ville Spirits, The Edge Hair Salon, Ellicottville Brewing Company, Ellicottville Stained Glass, Gado Gado, Holiday Valley, John Harvard’s, Jonny Barber Shop, Kazoo II, Mager Mountain Alpacas, Mansfield Arms & Ammo, Martens Cleaning Service, Movie World, The Palmatiers, Ponderosa of Olean, Pure Romance (Nikki Himes), The Purple Doorknob, Rae’s Creations (Sara Nuszkowski), Raine Design Jewelry, Greg Spako, 31 by Joan Haynes, Tips Up Café, Winery of Ellicottville, and Zumba with Sam Nelson … donations are still coming in!  We are blessed to live in such a caring and generous community.

June 12th’s “Celebration of Life” invites everyone to come out and enjoy the day, which happens to be the day before Patti’s birthday. Admission to the event is a $10 donation (kids 5 and under are free). We encourage you to pre-purchase your ticket so that we can get a better idea of how much food we’ll need to order. Tickets are available at Katy’s Cafe and Madigan’s in Ellicottville, and through Chris & Brenda Perks, Kathy Elser, and Alison Neal. Tickets will also be available at the door.
