Welcome to Summer Music Fest 2016

7-1-16JULY4a

Eat, Drink, Dance, Repeat

Outdoor Concerts! Food! Pet Parade led by Brian Dunkleman! Fireworks!

It’s all here during Ellicottville’s Summer Music Festival weekend.

Get to town early and check out the first of this year’s summer Gazebo series concerts on the lawn in the heart of the Village.  Acoustified Duo will perform 80s rock to American folk rock from 1 to 4 p.m. on Friday, July 1.

Come dinner time, make your way to the luau at Holiday Valley’s Main Lodge. Come have a great time with friends, old and new, and enjoy a tasty meal. Then head to the stage area and take in Friday night’s Summer Festival concert show. It starts at 7 p.m. with opener Funktional Flow, followed by headliner Rusted Root at 9 p.m.

Rusted Root, known for such hits as “Send Me on My Way,” and “Faith I Do Believe,” draws its sound from a fusion of acoustic, rock, world and more.

Saturday, July 2 has even more celebration in store.

Don’t miss the annual Pet Parade — a sight to behold — at 11 a.m. along Washington Street in the village. This year’s parade is hosted by EVL’s very own Brian Dunkleman — comedian, actor and Season 1 host of American Idol!

All friendly pets are welcome and everyone wins a prize! Sign up at the former Coffee Culture from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m.

While you’re in the Village, browse the arts and crafts show from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Jefferson Street (both Saturday and Sunday) and enjoy the best fruit of the season with some strawberry shortcake at the Strawberry Festival from noon to 3 p.m. at the Village Gazebo, where rock band Generations will also be performing from 1 to 4 p.m.

Saturday evening, head back to the slopes, where the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra (BPO) takes the stage at 8 p.m. The BPO will perform with the theme “Heroes and Villains,” playing music from well-known television and movie heroes. As the evening progresses, the sky will be aglow with fireworks, set to the music of Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture, and other patriotic music.

The weekend doesn’t end there. On Sunday, July 3, you’ll be “Rockin’ into the Night” as 38 Special takes the stage to perform their southern rock hits. Sunday’s opener is Buffalo’s Caitlin Koch.

Concert-goers are welcome to bring in coolers and picnic baskets, blankets and chairs before the concert begins at 7 p.m. Holiday Valley will also offer a variety of concessions when you need to replenish after dancing the night away on the slopes.

Tickets are available at the gate, and ages 12 and under are free for all shows.

Of course, these long summer days are perfect for enjoying everything else EVL has to offer—like shopping, dining, hiking, adventures at Sky High and splashing around in HV’s pool complex.

Summer Music Fest weekend is about so much more than just great music. It’s about spending time with family and friends making lasting memories. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride!
