An open house was held Saturday, Oct. 15 to honor Dave Golley for his many years of service to the Town of Ellicottville.
A sign was unveiled, naming the entrance to the Highway Barns “David Golley Drive.”
A memorial patio in front of the building includes a bench with a plaque that says “In Memory of Dave Golley.” Steve Crowley was instrumental in getting donations to pay for the patio area, so that no tax dollars were used.
Matt McAndrew spoke, along with John Burrell and Steve Crowley, and Father Ron was on hand to bless the building and the patio area.
Loyd Hovey and Frank Moore were also honored for their many years of service to the town.
Our family would like to extend a sincere and heartfelt thank you to all of those who attended the Open House and dedication of the Ellicottville Town Highway barns on Saturday Oct. 15 in honor/memory of Dave Golley. Dave certainly loved his job of 24 years as the Highway Superintendent and took great pride in his work. He was most proud of the new highway barns built at the base of Bryant Hill Road.
A special thanks to all of those involved who made this happen including Matt McAndrew, Tom Scharf, Steve Crowley, the Town Highway employees, The Town Board, John Burrell, Father Ron Mierzwa and all of the private donors that made this all possible.
We are truly grateful that he was honored in this way!
