Three-Point Challenge June 2

By Kohl Halloran

The fifth year of the annual EVL Tourney has finally been started up. This event has been held every summer for the past four years in an effort to raise money for Cystic Fibrosis. Every year, this event gets bigger and bigger and we can not wait to see what this year has in store for us!

The EVL Tourney is a 5 on 5 double elimination basketball tournament, held at the Ellicottville Village Park, in which teams from all over the area come to participate. In previous years, we have always had 10 or more teams enter and play in this tournament. For the fifth year, we are looking to have a record 16 teams!

The event is being held on June 3 and 4 and will last for a majority of both days. A prize is given out to the top two teams in the tournament.

If you are interested in entering a team, please contact Kohl Halloran at  (716) 307-9672. All teams must be entered before May 13. You will need to enter a roster of 6-10 players and pay the entry fee of $200 before the deadline. Co-ed optional, but all players must be 16 or older. You may also find us on Facebook under “EVL Tourney”.

In an effort to raise the most money for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, we have also decided to add a new event this year! On Friday night, June 2, at 6 p.m., we will be holding a three-point competition for anyone age 16 or older. There will be a $10 entry fee for any participant. You may contact  Kohl Halloran as well if you would be interested in competing. You can find out all the rules on our Facebook page where there is an event link for both the tournament and the three-point challenge.

This event is a great family fun event and is held for such a great cause. We have a great chicken BBQ on the first day of the event, along with much more to choose from at the concession stand. Mark your calendars, come enjoy some fun in the sun and join us at the Fifth Annual EVL Tourney!
