The National Comedy Center and Chautauqua Institution have announced that stand-up comedian, Jim Gaffigan, and director, producer, and wife, Jeannie Gaffigan, will be participating in a special discussion exploring the role of comedy in religion and life on Friday, Aug. 4 at 10:45 a.m. during a week titled “Comedy and the Human Condition,” July 31 – Aug. 6. This special week of comedy dialogues will take place at the world-renowned Chautauqua Institution, that has welcomed nine U.S. presidents, three supreme court justices and some of the world’s most significant thought-leaders in history.

Jeannie Gaffigan is a writer and producer, known for her work with husband, Jim Gaffigan. She has co-written and co-produced all five of Gaffigan’s comedy specials, also serving as the director on his fifth special. Two of CDs from these specials, “Mr. Universe” and “Obsessed,” were nominated for Grammy Awards.
