Who says there ain’t no cure for the summertime blues? In Ellicottville, the cure for the blues IS the blues and there’s a full lineup to be had at this weekend’s Jazz and Blues Fest, July 28-30.

Stop by the Gin Mill and check out steel guitarist John Frinzi and steel pan artist John Patti on Friday, as well as the Blue Light Blues Band on Saturday.

Balloons will feature Maria Aurigema playing her hard-driving, energetic blues on Friday. Her credits include opening for big-name acts like Foreigner, Blue Oyster Cult, Edgar Winter, Johnny Winter, Little Feat, Creedence Clearwater Revisited, Foghat, Steppenwolf, Sammy Hagar and Styx. Also that night, Keith Shuskie of The Voice fame will perform on the patio.

On Saturday, Balloons will host contempo-jazz guitarist BD Lenz, as well as singer/songwriter Ade Adu on the patio starting at 10 p.m.

Catch Billy B and the Honey Dippers at Villaggio Friday night, and Growlers Blues Band on Saturday.

Finnerty’s will present Wilky on Friday night.

Head to Ellicottville Brewing Company to check out The Untouchables on Friday and Dozo My Lady Acoustic Trio on Saturday.

Stop by Madigan’s on Saturday to check out both Michael DiSanto and QPhunk.

The Silver Fox will host LTM Trio on Saturday.

Guests can also head to the Winery of Ellicottville Mainstage on Monroe Street to see The Mick Hayes Band on Saturday and The Mark Mazur Little Band on Sunday.

The best part about the weekend? It’s all free!

“Jazz and Blues Weekend is about music,” said Ellicottville Chamber of Commerce Media and Communications Manager Chris Chapman. “It’s about coming out to the various live music venues to hear some of the Western New York region’s best jazz and blues acts. I mean, to be able to hear such great acts as The Mick Hayes Band and the Mark Mazur Little Big Band live and for free on the same weekend is a wonderful treat for an area like Ellicottville. We have a total of 16 bands at 8 venues throughout the village…and we have the unofficial kickoff on Thursday night with a bit of the bayou, when Black Rock Zydeco pays the gazebo…and it’s ALL FREE.”

Your chance to beat the heat and beat the blues is here—don’t miss your chance to take in some great tunes with friends old and new at all of EVL’s hottest spots! Enjoy!
