While you’re in Ellicottville for Rock and Roll weekend and checking out the car show on Sunday, why not step back a little further back in time and take a tour of the first frame house in Ellicottville.
Located at 8 W. Washington Street, next to St. John’s Episcopal Church, this private home celebrates its 200th birthday this year. For the occasion, the family agreed to work with the Ellicottville Historical Society to offer a one-day inclusive house tour featuring descendants of the original homeowners. You won’t want to miss this opportunity to learn more about the home and its prominent role in the history of the town, village and county.
Tickets are $10 each and will be on sale Sunday, Sept. 17 only, beginning at 9 a.m. There will be a ticket stand on the lawn of St. John’s. Tickets are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Beginning at 10 a.m., tours will take place every half-hour until the last tour at 4:30 p.m. Come early to sign up for a time-slot on one of the scheduled tours and purchase your tickets ahead of time. Hurry, though, only a limited number of tickets are available. Proceeds from the ticket sales will go to benefit the Ellicottville History Society & Museum.
