Fall Festival Weekend is not complete without a visit to Pumpkinville! Pick out the most carve-able pumpkins at the longest-running pumpkin farm in New York State, located at 4844 Sugartown Road in Great Valley. Pumpkinville is open daily from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. now through Halloween, and there are all kinds of fun activities on the schedule for October!
This year, Universal Pictures has partnered with Pumpkinville for the 75th anniversary of the Curious George book series, as well as the upcoming Curious George movie. Owners Dan and Diane Pawlowski are excited to have visitors explore this year’s six-acre corn maze, which features Curious George leaping out of a jack-o-lantern! The maze, which was planted around the 15th of May, is about eight feet tall, and is sure to give visitors a run for their money. Several visitors have enjoyed this challenging maze, as well as visits from Curious George, himself!
Admission to Pumpkinville is free and so is the parking, so load up the family and head over to Great Valley. Pumpkinville is your destination for all of your favorite seasonal delights including fresh apples, homemade donuts, gourds, and pumpkins, of course! Be sure to check out Pumpkinville’s restored 1870s cider mill in action, and enjoy a fresh glass of cider, too.
Children will enjoy the many free activities, like petting the farm animals, playing in the Corn TeePee and the Kiddie Spookum Barn, and meeting Perky, the Talking Pumpkin. Visitors can also purchase an activity wristband to get the full Pumpkinville experience and enjoy the farm pedal carts, country hayrides, cow train and the six-acre corn maze! Other activities for 2017 include the Pumpkin Jumpin’ Pillows, hayrides, and Gem Mining. New for 2017, the Apple Blasters are air compressed guns that visitors can use to fire apples at various metal targets—let the games begin!
Now that October is here, Pumpkinville’s range of activities include helicopter rides above the beautiful fall foliage! Helicopter rides take place on weekends throughout the month, weather permitting, and are available at an additional charge to the regular Pumpkinville activities.
Don’t forget to bring your appetite to Pumpkinville, as there’s a delicious treat no matter how big your appetite! Try one of their famous pumpkin donuts, freshly popped kettle corn, ice cream, homemade pumpkin pie and pumpkin bread, freshly made fudge, caramel and candy apples and more. Enjoy a meal at the Pumpkinville Grill and on the weekend, try Pumpkinville’s delicious chicken barbecue.
Keep up with all the latest activities at Pumpkinville by following Pumpkinville on Facebook, where you may just be a winner! That’s right, every Friday is Freebie Friday, when Pumpkinville gives away great prizes to those who “like” and/or comment on their Freebie Friday post. So far this season, Pumpkinville has given away a dozen pumpkin donuts, fresh apple cider, a family 4-pack of activity wristbands, a half bushel of apples, and more. Will you be the next big winner?
